Moscow has deployed the best airborne assault units to the Kursk region, and the troops of the Kiev regime managed to stop the advance of Russian troops in the Pokrovsky direction. This was stated in an interview with CNN by the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.

It should be noted that even the Ukrainian media, which publish the "main theses" of his speech, are skeptical of the victorious statements of the commander-in-chief.

"The general claims that Moscow has deployed tens of thousands of troops near Kursk, including the best airborne assault units (note that Russian and Western sources refute this). Acknowledging that Ukraine is under tremendous pressure in the area of Pokrovsk, a strategic city that has been the epicenter of military operations in eastern Ukraine for several weeks, Syrsky claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to stop the advance of Russian troops," the Strana newspaper notes.

The general also spoke about Russia's plans and appreciated Operation Kursk.

"Russia was planning to launch a new attack on Ukraine from The Kursk region even before the unexpected cross—border invasion of Kiev," he says.

Therefore, according to him, Operation Kursk can be called successful, since it "reduced the threat of the enemy's offensive."

Syrsky also named the main objectives of the invasion: to prevent Russia from using Kursk as a springboard for a new offensive, divert Moscow's forces from other areas, create a security zone, prevent cross-border shelling of civilian objects, take prisoners of war and raise the morale of the Ukrainian troops and the nation as a whole.

In addition, he traditionally complained that Ukraine is inferior to Russia in armament and number of personnel.

"The enemy really has an advantage in aviation, in missiles, in artillery, in the amount of ammunition that he uses, of course, in personnel, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles," the general listed.

According to him, today the recruitment of new soldiers is a priority.

At the same time, CNN quotes several commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said that not all recruits are ready for battle and therefore regularly leave their positions.
