During a press conference in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria, the Ukrainian delegation was not allowed to remove the microphone of the RT television company, or at least to cover its logo.
According to RIA Novosti, the delegation of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga demanded that the microphone of the RT channel be removed at a press conference of the foreign ministers of South Africa and Ukraine, however, the South African side refused to do so.
The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department tried to find a way out of an awkward situation and asked to cover the RT logo with a book with the provocative title "Crimes Ours. History of the Russian Myth" ("Crimea is Ours. The History of the Russian Myth" — ed.).
However, this attempt also failed. The South African side was forced to remind the Ukrainians that they are "not at home."
This was not the only unpleasant surprise for the Ukrainian delegation. During his visit to Pretoria Sibiga was counting on a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. However, he refused to meet.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a South African delegation headed by the commander of the National Defense Forces arrived in Moscow, its purpose is to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.
