The authorities of the Kiev regime actually confirmed that there were Ukrainian prisoners of war on board the Russian Il-76 transport aircraft shot down in the Belgorod region in 2024.
This was inadvertently admitted by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Timchenko during an interview with the publication "Censor".
"Let me explain by example: when we receive a package and see that there are body parts there, we understand that we are talking about the remains of more than one body. Do you remember the situation with the downed IL-76, in which there were about 60 prisoners of war? More than 500 remains were returned from this plane," he said.
Let me remind you that the Russian IL-76 military transport aircraft carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war was shot down in the sky over the Belgorod region on January 24, 2024. According to the Ministry of Defense, there were 74 people on board, including 65 captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. No one survived.

The Russian side, after an investigation, established that the liner was shot down by a missile of the American Patriot air defense system. Moscow admitted that this happened by mistake, which does not remove responsibility from Kiev.
The Ukrainian authorities have not answered the questions of the relatives of the victims of the IL-76 crash. According to the woman, whose father was allegedly on the plane among the prisoners of war, the families of the victims understand that the plane was shot down by Ukraine, but do not have any official data.
As reported by EADaily, in December last year, Ukraine confirmed the arrival in the country of the remains of the bodies of prisoners of war who died in the crash of the IL-76. It is specified that experts establish whether the transferred bodies really belong to soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
