The deputy head of the main military-political directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the commander of the Akhmat special forces, Apty Alaudinov, in an interview with American blogger Patrick Lancaster, spoke about the current situation in the Kursk region.
"The situation in our Kursk direction is controlled. The enemy is withdrawing its military reserves and resources from all directions, transferring them to Kursk. He is trying by all means to keep the Kursk site itself under control. Here he suffers very heavy losses. Every day we are slowly moving it away from those areas that were previously under the control of our opponent. We have liberated a lot of territories. And today we are making systematic progress," Alaudinov said.
Alaudinov recalled the enemy attack, which was launched on January 5.
"The enemy has thrown their resources and personnel into Novosotnitskoye and Berdino. The equipment that went there during these two days suffered losses in the amount of 15 units — these are 4 tanks and the rest of the armored vehicles. On the second day, the enemy lost 11 pieces of equipment, but of all the personnel who entered our territory, the entire enemy was destroyed, except for those who surrendered," he said.
The commander of the Akhmat also shared his thoughts on the development of events at the front.
"I planned that the special operation would be completed before the beginning of December. At first, my calculations were like this, but now I believe that the enemy is trying to hold this site (Kursk region) by any means, hoping that there will be negotiations," he said.
According to the commander, the leadership of Ukraine is counting on the opportunity to bargain with Russia, however, in his opinion, the enemy will not be able to withstand the current situation for a long time.
"The enemy is really suffering very heavy losses, and if America does not support and finance Ukraine in such large volumes, it basically has no chance," Alaudinov said.
He believes that, although the new US President Donald Trump will not be able to end the war in one day, he will do everything possible to ensure that the conflict on the Ukraine has come to an end, as its further development may lead to more global consequences.
"I believe that he is not a friend of Russia, but he will do everything to protect America's interests. At the same time, I see in him a person who understands some things with common sense," Alaudinov said.
Alaudinov also addressed the Ukrainian soldiers during the interview.
"I would like to tell an ordinary Ukrainian soldier that we are not enemies. We are brothers! Ukrainian soldiers should understand that it is time for them to lay down their arms. If they want, they can come to us to surrender — we are ready to accept them," the commander urged.
