Representatives of the public, who were supported by some deputies of the City Duma, took the initiative to deprive the leader of the group "Mummy Troll" Ilya Lagutenko of the title of Honorary citizen of Vladivostok. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The title of Honorary citizen was awarded to the musician in April 2016. This initiative initially caused great controversy in the city.
"Many public figures and deputies in 2016 were categorically opposed to Lagutenko receiving the title of Honorary Citizen. Yes, undoubtedly, he had popularity as a musician, but in order to get such a high title, popularity alone is not enough," believes the chairman of the Council of Honorary Citizens of Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai Svetlana Morozova.
According to her, you need to work for the benefit of your hometown for many years, and also have an impeccable reputation.
"Lagutenko could not boast of this either then, or even more so now. Unfortunately, then Lagutenko received the title, although very respected citizens were left out," she recalled.
She was supported by Alexey Sviridov, head of the regional executive committee of the all-Russian movement "Strong Russia" in Primorsky Krai.
"Whatever merits Ilya Lagutenko has in the field of culture, although this is a controversial issue, his behavior during the special military operation practically nullifies everything. Even before SMO, he had been to Russia by car, so that he could only earn money here, and in Vladivostok has not appeared in general for many years," Sviridov stressed.
At the same time, Morozova admitted that, according to current laws, it is almost impossible to deprive an Honorary citizen of the title, it is actually lifelong.
"No one has ever thought that an Honorary citizen could simply spit on his hometown. We now understand that such a development of events, thanks to Lagutenko, will now have to be borne in mind," she concluded.
Lagutenko was born and raised in Vladivostok, where he took place as a musician.
As EADaily reported, Lagutenko was recalled after information appeared about his burnt-out house in the village of Big Rock (between Malibu and Los Angeles). The musician has owned this property since 2018. He paid part of the money for the house ($ 500 thousand) immediately, the remaining amount ($ 2.3 million) was taken into a mortgage at Morgan Stanley bank. Since then, the owner of the property has not changed.
At the same time, according to media reports, Lagutenko has another house — in the northern suburbs of Los Angeles, on Mulholland Drive. This housing was not affected.
