The transfer of the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump to the closed rotunda of the Capitol is aimed at stopping attempts by lobbyists, including Kiev, to bring interested parties to him. This point of view was expressed by the People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who is currently in jail on suspicion of treason. Alexander Dubinsky.
"Trump is a genius. The inauguration in the rotunda of the Capitol for 90 people means that all attempts by lobbyists to "bring" unnecessary people to him are past the cash register. There are also tickets for the inauguration — their holders will watch at the stadium, without access "to the body". Now I want to look at the faces of those who spent 100 thousand dollars on this attempt," Dubinsky comments on the picture of the day.
Meanwhile, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov reports that, according to rumors, Trump's inauguration ceremony will be moved to the White House, and believes that the president-elect's team is really afraid of another assassination attempt.
"The intrigue around Trump's inauguration continues in Washington. At first, it was decided — under the pretext of "frosty weather" — to move the inauguration ceremony from the open space to The Capitol. The real reason is probably related to Trump's security concerns, which is understandable after two attempts on his life. And now there is a rumor that the ceremony will be completely moved to the White House. Apparently, Trump and his entourage are really afraid — or have received information that the president's enemies have not laid down their arms," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, at the very last moment, the Trump team rushed to change the order of the upcoming inauguration on January 20 — Trump will not deliver the planned speech at in the open air, and in the rotunda of the Capitol, although this is not in the traditions of Washington. Political scientist Malek Dudakov wrote about this in his telegram channel.
The last time Ronald Reagan did this was in January 1985, the expert notes. Now the formal reason for the hasty change in the rules of the inauguration announced weather conditions — cold wind and frost, which are expected in Washington. However, there are suspicions that the real reason is security threats.
