The Brazilian Foreign Ministry summoned the US charge d'affaires because of the inappropriate treatment of deported citizens, the G1 news portal reported.

Earlier, the Brazilian authorities criticized the United States for deporting Brazilian citizens from The United States in handcuffs, calling it a violation of the rights of Brazilians.

"The Charge d'affaires of the United States in Brazil, Gabriel Escobar, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry on Monday to clarify the situation with the treatment of Brazilians deported from the United States," the media said.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump, in his first speech as the 47th president of the United States, promised to immediately stop the penetration of illegal immigrants into American territory and begin the process of extraditing millions of migrants. He also introduced a nationwide state of emergency in connection with the situation on the southern border of the United States.
