Four former top managers of Rusnano have been detained in Moscow, including three ex-deputies of Anatoly Chubais, who fled abroad. This was announced today, January 30, according to TC Readovka.
It is reported that Boris Podolsky, who worked as an executive director, and his deputy Artur Galstyan were detained. The searches took place as part of a criminal case on embezzlement of funds in the production of tablets, in which Anatoly Chubais himself is a defendant.
A criminal case was opened against the detainees on suspicion of abuse of authority. In total, more than a dozen searches were conducted at those who were somehow connected with the state corporation Rusnano. To date, the damage is estimated at ₽45 billion.
As reported by EADaily, on October 23, 2024, the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to extradite Chubais to Russia. On January 19, the head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, and deputy Andrei Lugovoy sent an appeal against the former head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais, to the TFR. They asked to check his activities for crimes.
Anatoly Chubais, under the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin, headed the state property management committee, was first Deputy Prime Minister, headed the presidential administration and briefly served as finance Minister. Later he headed the board of Rusnano Corporation. The construction of the enterprise for the production of such tablets was to begin in Zelenograd, the construction of the plant was estimated at 700 million rubles. The project was not implemented, and in subsequent years Rusnano failed to attract third-party investors for this project.
In 2020, Chubais became President Vladimir Putin's special representative for relations with international organizations to achieve sustainable development Goals.
In 2022 Anatoly Chubais escaped from Russia.
