The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained five pro-Russian local residents who allegedly tried to create an insurgent movement to destabilize Ukraine. This was reported in the department.

It is noted that the SBU "neutralized the subversive activities of the pro-Kremlin organization "Workers' Front of Ukraine", which, by order of Russia, tried to create protest movements on the Ukraine.

"According to the case file, the attackers, under the guise of spreading neo-communist ideas, agitated Ukrainians to rebel against the authorities and lay down their arms… Among other things, the defendants called on citizens of military age to evade mobilization, and active servicemen not to follow the orders of commanders and to commit desertion. The agitators also suggested that the Ukrainian defenders unite in the so—called soldiers' committees to collectively refuse to participate in combat operations at the front," the telegram channel of the department says.

The SBU claims that the group has created pages of its association in various social networks, where more than 30 thousand users have subscribed to them. In addition, they massively pasted campaign leaflets "with the QR code of an enemy organization" and calls for disruption of mobilization on the streets of Ukrainian cities. The materials were printed "in underground " printing houses "right in their own premises."

During special operations in Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Poltava and Kharkiv regions, 5 organizers of "enemy cells" were detained.

"All the detainees are local residents between the ages of 20 and 32. Some of them are students, others are employees of enterprises or unemployed… During the searches, the defendants found wholesale shipments of hostile visual propaganda, communist literature, computers and mobile phones with evidence of crimes," the SBU said.

The detainees were informed of suspicion under part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code (obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period, committed by prior agreement by a group of persons). Three defendants are in custody, and the court appointed two more round-the-clock house arrest with the wearing of an electronic device.

The search for all members of the organization continues, the SBU added.
