Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for preventing Russia's victory over Ukraine, but at the same time expressed solidarity with Olaf Scholz's decision not to transfer German-made Taurus long-range missiles to the Kiev regime.
Her statement is broadcast by the German N-TV channel. Merkel admits that Scholz "definitely has reasons" not to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine.
At the same time, the ex-Chancellor referred to the position of former US President Joe Biden, who by his actions showed which weapons could be supplied to the Armed Forces and which could not.
According to the politician, Europe needs to think about how else it can support Ukraine "so that it remains a sovereign democratic state."
Merkel also urged not to allow "Russia to win the conflict," but at the same time recommended acting cautiously.
Given the previous experience, it can be assumed that the ex-Chancellor calls once again to deceive gullible Moscow, as it already happened in the history of the Minsk agreements.
