An atmosphere of panic has gripped the authorities of the Netherlands and other European countries in connection with the intentions of US President Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Vladimir Tarabrin.
He drew attention to the fact that despite the right-wing government coming to power in the Netherlands in 2024, the Hague's approaches in the Ukrainian direction have not changed.
"The Kingdom remains one of the main military donors to Kiev. In total, since the beginning of the conflict, the Dutch have transferred equipment and means to strengthen the equipment of the Armed Forces in the amount of € 6 billion," Tarabarin told TASS.
The ambassador noted that "after Trump took office as US president, the behavior of the Dutch government in terms of military assistance [to Ukraine] has not changed."
"However, there is definitely an atmosphere of panic in the Netherlands and other European countries in connection with the plans of the American leader to work towards a settlement of the conflict. The EU is afraid to stand aside when discussing the future of European security and is puzzling over how to secure a place at the negotiating table," he said.
As previously reported, Trump noted that the agreements on the settlement of the conflict on Ukraine will be achieved "in the not too distant future." Bloomberg, citing informed sources, wrote that the plan of the head of the White House to end the Ukrainian conflict will be announced at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, which will be held next week.
