At 4.47, the governor of the region, Roman Busargin, wrote in his telegram channel about the information received from the Ministry of Defense about the threat of UAVs.
"Warning systems are operating locally. All emergency services have been put on full alert," he added.
At 7.03 Busargin informed that the UAVs had been eliminated by the air defense forces.
"There are damages at the industrial enterprise in Saratov. Operational services are working in places where debris may fall. There are no preliminary casualties," he said.
At 9.47, the head of the region said that "a fire at an industrial enterprise in Saratov after the attack, the UAV was eliminated."
In Saratov social networks they write that the Saratov Oil Refinery, which is part of the Rosneft structure, was hit. Local residents told about explosions and a fire at an enterprise located in the Zavodsky district of the city. Prior to that, drones attacked the refinery on January 14, resulting in a fire.

In addition to Saratov, Ukrainian drones attacked Engels.

EADaily adds that in Engels, which is on the opposite of Saratov on the bank of the Volga, the base of the Russian strategic aviation is located. On January 14, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also attempted to attack the airbase. After that then in Engels caught fire at the Kristall oil depot, which stores fuel for bombers. The fire raged for five days, two employees of the fire service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were killed. On January 8, this tank farm was also raided by drones, after which it burned.

As reported, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, air defense shot down 40 Ukrainian drones over the territory of Russia overnight: 18 UAVs were destroyed over the Saratov region, 13 over Rostov, 6 over Bryansk, -2 over Volgograd and -1 over Belgorod region.
Temporary restrictions on the take-off and landing of aircraft were introduced, in particular, at the airports of Saratov, Kazan, Kirov and Ulyanovsk.
