"Bach and transgender people": the evil German leaves in June, will the Englishman Coe come to shit?

Legendary Soviet biathlete Alexander Tikhonov commented on the departure of Thomas Bach from the post of president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Recall, the German will hand over the reins of the office in June this year.

"I know Bach well, I have his phone number. Thomas' time has passed, so anyone who comes in his place will be a good head. Except for a rare scum — Englishman (Sebastian) Coe. It's time for Bach to leave the IOC not only because of his age, but also for everything he has done lately. This is a forced laborer, so why scold him?
We Russians can only help ourselves. No one else. We must be the dominant country in everything: in politics, in the economy, then we can dictate the conditions to the IOC and to anyone. But we missed all this, so we are nowhere left there: neither in international federations, anywhere at all! This is our big omission. Tarpishchev and the runaway Isinbayeva are sitting in the IOC, that is, people who absolutely do not decide anything. How is that?
Now it will be necessary to connect everything, so that we have our own person in the IOC. There is no chance for us to get into the Executive Committee, but if we have normal relations with the Americans, then it's worth negotiating with them. It's useless with the British, and all the Scandinavian countries are complete bastards. And Bach has already outlived himself. Everything was dictated to him from Washington and Berlin. But you know, if I, a Russian, were the head of the IOC, and the Kremlin would call me every time, then I would also promote their policy in world sports," Tikhonov told the Sport24 portal.

Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev also gave an assessment of the deeds of Bach:

"Every leader of this level is always distinguished by good deeds and positive moments. Thomas Bach probably did something good, but unfortunately for him, he will remain in history as the man who began to destroy the international Olympic movement. Only the bad is remembered, and the good is immediately erased. So bad Bach has more than enough for many more. I can't remember anything good about him.
If we talk about the future, it does not matter which person will be the head of the IOC, but it is important that the basic tenets of the Olympic movement be observed. The main thing is that sport is out of politics and non—violation of the Olympic Charter, along with the IOC charter. If such a person appears, who will treat all athletes equally, regardless of nationality, then he will be in great demand."

Three-time Stanley Cup winner, two-time Olympic champion, State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov has always negatively characterized the outgoing head of the IOC:

"I'm with Bach never communicated. Even if there were some good ideas and deeds, he and his team crossed it all out. Bach will go down in history as the most unsuccessful head of the IOC of all time. I've done a lot of things, I'll have to clean it up for a very long time. Transgender people, the suspension of our athletes, the deprivation of their flag and anthem, and so on. In a word, Thomas disappointed us."

The Olympic champion in speed skating, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova believes that Thomas Bach imposed sanctions against Russian sports under political pressure.:

"There were two Bach in my life. One was amazing, we collaborated and held the Olympics in Sochi, where he helped in every possible way. Then everything was perfect, so the Games turned out to be good. And the second period was already after 2014, when politics intervened. I don't know how and what they put pressure on Bach, but in fact they didn't just put pressure on him. Is it possible to blame Bach that this was his personal opinion? I suppose not. Until 2014, there was no such opinion. Believe me, he had a very positive attitude to In Russia, there was not even a suspicion of bias.
But after the pressure, we no longer know what was there: compromising materials, threats or general Russophobic hysteria, which is being whipped up, and everyone is involved in it, because they don't hear any other information except negative from the media. It is very difficult.
Therefore, there are two Bach for me: an Olympic champion and a wonderful IOC president in my first life — a man who organized the Olympics with us, and then everything changed."

According to the parliamentarian, Bach is a political opportunist. He was pressured, the politicians ordered. Everyone there is now saying that it's not them, they were just pressured as best they could. It was impossible to go against this machine. The man was purely thinking about himself and his family: "Why should I ruin my career because of Russia?" He tried to get out of it at various stages, and they presented him for this and said that his task was to level Russia. It feels like Bach was following someone's instructions:

"I'm not sure if it was his inner beliefs. Until the last moment I believed that this was not the case, but he could not do anything. He is a performer in someone's hands, unfortunately. The IOC president shouldn't be like that, but you can't envy anyone in this situation.
Bach's departure is not at all connected with the change of power in the USA, it's just that the IOC elections are coming soon. We will not be returned until a new IOC president is elected and a new executive committee meets. Then there will be a vote, but what does Bach have to do with it? This has nothing to do with America and other situations. I think he left because he should not affect this situation. Because there are more resources within the chapter to influence the elections. I think he left in a month so that no one would think that he was engaged in lobbying."
