Delegation from Ukraine waited about an hour for US President Donald Trump to sign an agreement on minerals after his altercation with Vladimir Zelensky. It is reported by the Axios portal with reference to a senior White House official.

According to him, about an hour after the dispute, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz "came out of the Oval Office, approached the place where Zelensky was sitting and told him to leave." Earlier, Fox News also reported that the two officials asked the Ukrainian delegation to leave.

The day before, on February 28, Zelensky met with Trump in In Washington, to sign an agreement on mineral resources, which the parties have been negotiating since the beginning of February. However, the meeting began with a skirmish between the leaders in front of journalists.

Zelensky opposed negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Trump and US Vice President Jay Dee Vance accused the Ukrainian leader of disrespect for the American side and ingratitude. As a result, Zelensky left the White House ahead of schedule, without signing an agreement and a press conference.

After that, Trump said that Zelensky would be able to return to dialogue when he was ready for peace. According to the Republican, Zelensky felt like "a big shot because the United States is on his side."

In turn, the President of Ukraine described the altercation with Trump with the phrase "it was not very". He also expressed gratitude to the American people, Trump and bipartisan support in Congress. According to him, "nothing bad" was done at the meeting with the US president, but at the same time Zelensky admitted that "some things need to be discussed without cameras." In addition, he expressed readiness to sign a resource deal.
