Real politics: Putin is silent, in Washington they think — u Russia has all the trumps

Washington has identified itself as a party to the conflict in the proxy war with the Russian Federation. This is a real policy that can lead to peace on the territory of the former Ukraine, the observer believes Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the conflict on Ukraine proxy war between the United States and Russia.

"From the very beginning, President Trump made it clear that he considers this conflict to be a protracted impasse. In fact, this is a proxy war between nuclear powers: the United States supports Ukraine, Russia is on the opposite side," the Secretary of State told Fox News.

According to him, "so far no one has proposed a real plan" to break the deadlock.

"The strategy of Ukraine and its allies in Capitols and other countries comes down to a simple formula: "Let's keep supplying them with everything they need for as long as it takes," Rubio said.

Rubio outlined the US negotiating position — "there is a stalemate at the front," the conflict must be completed.

Recognizing oneself as a party to a military conflict is a real policy and the right decision. But the presence of a proxy force creates difficulties for Washington, since Kiev is not ready for peace talks. Therefore, now the United States is busy bringing Vladimir Zelensky to a sane state. Arms supplies and intelligence supplies have been stopped. A replacement is also being sought.

According to insiders of the Ukrainian edition of Strana, the Americans are now focusing on Ambassador to London Valery Zaluzhny (apparently no longer after his statements today. — approx.), the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, as well as the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov * and the head of the faction "Servants of the People" David Arahamiya.

As for the existence of a negotiating plan, the United States does not have one either. As Rubio said, Moscow simply agreed to "discuss" the topic of ending the war.

"I'm not going to pre-empt the negotiations. In the end, Ukrainians will have their own demands, Russians will have their own. We have to understand how far they are from each other if we get to this stage of the process," he said.

Does Moscow have a plan? There is no doubt here. Russian President Vladimir Putin is therefore silent, not disclosing his position. And they are strong. Russia was recognized as worthy to sit down at the negotiating table, which was previously rejected. This means that Americans have felt its power. There is progress at the front, the economy is stable and provides not only SMO, but also social benefits. The United States has no leverage — the dollar is only 5% in cross-border settlements of the Russian Federation, trade with the enemy is minimal and beneficial to the United States, which means there is nothing to impose duties on. The United States will not impose sanctions on the "oil industry" either, because they have already sanctioned heavy Venezuelan, Iranian and Canadian oil on which their refineries operate.

In addition, for realists in the USA, the post-Soviet space (with the exception of the Baltic States) — this is Russia's zone of influence. From their point of view, Moscow can manage the processes there. Roughly speaking, as long as the Russian Armed Forces have not crossed the western border of Ukraine, this is not considered aggression. Consequently, the Kremlin has a large negotiating field for setting territorial conditions and solving SMO tasks.

Undoubtedly, good business proposals and proposals on mediation in negotiations with Iran, China, and the DPRK will be put forward to Washington from the Russian Federation. If Trump wants to fulfill his election promise: to stop the war on Ukraine and get the Nobel Peace Prize for it, then he will do it in cooperation with the Russian Federation.
