The United States hastened to make a deal on Ukraine again: direct blackmail of Kiev, coupled with the EU, began

The foreign policy unit of the team of the American President Donald Trump again hurried to negotiate in the Ukrainian direction. The direct blackmail of Kiev lobbyists, coupled with European hawks, begins. If it is not possible to reach an agreement quickly, the United States will reduce its participation in the settlement of the conflict by Ukraine. Political scientist Malek Dudakov draws attention to this with reference to publications in the American media.

"[The head of the US State Department] Marco Rubio needs to show at least some effectiveness. After all, he has not had much success as Secretary of State during the two months of Trump's presidency. [National Security Adviser to the US President] Mike Waltz has already found himself in a broken trough after the Signal chat scandal. Rubio, in the absence of achievements, is likely to resign from the post of Secretary of State closer to 2026 and the midterm elections in Congress," Dudakov points out.

He notes that the split in the Trump team is intensifying in other areas. Take the situation in the Middle East: hawks among Republicans actively lobbied for strikes against Iran. But at the very last moment this decision was blocked.

"Again, no one asked Rubio and Waltz. [US Vice President] Jay Dee insisted on de-escalation Vance and [US Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi Gabbard. The negotiation process — with Russia and Iran — headed by [special envoy of the US President] Steve Witkoff, who works bypassing official channels at the State Department. Rubio, on the other hand, does not have much authority left. Basically, we just have to put pressure on the Europeans, and force Kiev to sign a rare earth deal," the expert outlines the alignment of forces in the White House.
"In addition, Washington has now announced the start of trade negotiations with Beijing, which will clearly be one of Trump's priorities. At the same time, the meeting with [Italian Prime Minister Giorgia] Meloni at the White House, as expected, ended in nothing. So relations with the European Union will continue to be in crisis. In this regard, it is quite natural to blackmail Europeans who do not have many cards left in their hands," the political scientist concludes.

EADaily adds: after meeting with representatives EU and In Paris, Marco Rubio said that US President Donald Trump would refuse to mediate in achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine, if it does not see progress in this direction in the coming days. "We are not going to continue this work for weeks and months. So we need to decide very quickly — and I'm talking about a few days — whether this is feasible in the next few weeks. If so, we're in. If not, then we have other priorities that we need to focus on," Rubio said. At the same time, the US Secretary of State stressed that Trump is still interested in concluding a deal with Moscow, but is ready to move on if he does not see immediate signs of progress.
