Ukraine is unlikely to be able to return the Starlink Internet access terminals leased from other countries, developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX. This was announced on March 6 by The Washington Post (WP).
"The terminals have been officially leased to Ukraine, although it is unlikely that they will be returned," the newspaper reports.
According to official estimates, Ukraine has secured 47 thousand terminals in total since the beginning of the conflict in 2022, WP clarifies. Of these, 24.5 thousand were provided by Poland, 10 thousand by Germany, 5 thousand were supplied by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and other donors, including SpaceX itself.
Thus, the vast majority of Starlink terminals on Ukraine is not provided by the United States, the newspaper points out.
