The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has "finally" begun to exert, albeit small, pressure on Russia, having made threats against Moscow.

This is reported by The Hill, noting that the head of the White House decided to try to force Russia to peaceful negotiations through new sanctions.

"President Trump has stated that he is considering the possibility of imposing additional sanctions and duties on Russia in order to try to bring Moscow to the negotiating table on ending the war in Ukraine," the material says.

The authors emphasize that these threats from Washington to Moscow were made a few days before the meeting between representatives of the American administration and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia.

As reported by EADaily, on the eve of Donald Trump said that if Russia does not cease fire on Ukraine, then the United States may impose new sanctions against it until an agreement is reached to resolve the crisis.
