US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff is coming to Moscow to discuss not only the 30-day truce proposed by Washington on Ukraine, but a number of other issues, including bilateral Russian-American relations. This was stated by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"Everyone understands that he is coming to discuss not only Ukraine, but also Russian-American relations and their further development, including the economic aspect," the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Ushakov stressed that Washington's proposal for a 30-day truce on Ukraine "gives nothing to Russia," "Ukrainians have the opportunity to regroup, gain strength and continue the same in the future." According to the representative of the Kremlin, Moscow's position on the need for a long-term settlement on Ukraine was presented to the special envoy of the US President, Steve Witkoff, who arrived in the Russian capital today.
A telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is scheduled for the evening.
