President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko hopes for an end to the conflict on Ukraine this year. He stated this today in an interview with TV presenter Olga Skabeeva for the Russia-1 TV channel.
Speaking about his attitude to Vladimir Zelensky, Lukashenko noted that he used to treat him like a son.
"Volodya was like a son to me, but he acted like a nit," he said, commenting on the actions of the head of the Kiev regime during his time in power.
In addition, Lukashenko expressed his attitude to the proposal of the American side to Russia, noting that there is no catch in them.
"No, they can't have a trick. Nothing yet (a specific plan — EADaily), I say, no, but it smells like peace. I think that this year we will be able to do something about this war, stop it. And not only here, but also among the Jews — there, Palestine, in the Middle East. Why not? Because Donald personally (US President Donald Trump — EADaily) wants to become a Nobel laureate. For God's sake, we will present it, if only this world were," he said.
Alexander Lukashenko also noted that the establishment of peace was announced as the main trend in the policy of the current US president after the topic of China.
"There is silence in the Chinese direction now, and this (peace issues — EADaily) sticks out. Therefore, he can't get away from it. These events push him to the surface: let's get the result! So I don't think they're doing it as a catch. No, there is no catch here, but you can not believe. Facts on the table — we will look at these specific facts and make decisions. So as not to be cheated, as Putin says, as in the old days. I'm telling you not to be fooled. They won't circle you. We've already had enough of it all," said the President of Belarus.
Recall that Belarus does not participate in the Russian SMO at the Ukraine. Minsk supports Moscow's actions and stands for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
