"He lies like Goebbels and will end up the same way" — Medvedev on Merz's statement about Russia

The future Chancellor Friedrich Merz is "lying like Goebbels", stating that Russia is allegedly "waging an aggressive hybrid war every day" in Europe. This was pointed out by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

"The future Chancellor Merz announced the aggressive war that Russia is waging daily in Europe, in the form of arson, contract killings, vandalism and disinformation. He hasn't worked a day yet, and he's already lying like Goebbels. Yes, this is exactly the kind of war your Nazi country waged against ours in 1941-1945. It is known how it ended victoriously. You're starting badly, Fritz!", — the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation wrote in his telegram channel.
"And, hopefully, you will also finish...", he added.

Recall that speaking earlier in the Bundestag, Merz accused Moscow of allegedly waging a "war against Europe," on the basis of which he said that European countries needed a plan for giant investments, especially in the military field. "The circumstances are primarily determined by [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's aggressive war Putin versus Europe. This is really a war against Europe, and not just a war against the territorial integrity of Ukraine," Merz argued.

EADaily adds: Federation Council Senator Alexei Pushkov, commenting on the statements of the future German Chancellor in his telegram channel tonight, noted that he had "completely lost the coast."

"He agreed to the point that Putin is allegedly "waging a war against Europe." And this, they say, determines the main circumstances in which Germany is located. Against the background of US policy, Merz is making an increasingly strange impression. He apparently has no idea what a real war is, and not a war he invented. As well as the deputies of the Bundestag, who applaud him in unison," the senator wrote.

Pushkov recommended that German politicians "watch the video chronicle of the 1940s, if they haven't seen it, in order to remember what a real war is, what crimes the Third Reich committed in Russia, and how this war turned out for Germany itself, which unleashed it."

"They seem to have completely forgotten about it," he said.
"And the most important question is: why is Merz talking about Putin's 'war against Europe'? The answer is obvious: Merz is preparing to fight with Russia," he concluded.
