Beer supplies from Europe to the Russian market have decreased to a minimum since 2016 or fourfold. RIA Novosti informs about this today, March 21, with reference to Eurostat data.
According to the results of January 2025, Russia imported only 4.04 thousand tons of this drink from the EU.
EADaily reminds that since January 1, Moscow has increased duties on goods from "unfriendly" countries, including beer. Rates increased from 0.1 to 1 euro per liter.
A fourfold decrease occurred compared to January 2024. Germany remained the leading supplier to the Russian market, having shipped 1.36 thousand tons, which is five times less than in December 2024. Shipments of beer from Belgium have also noticeably decreased — 7.4 times less or only 173 tons. The import of Czech foam drink decreased by 5.7 times to 517 tons.
