US President Donald Trump is considering lifting economic sanctions against Russia and cooperating with Moscow to develop Crimea as a major international resort.
The American journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, spoke about this prospect in his column on the Substack platform, citing an unnamed source in the White House.
"The person told me that Trump's main aspiration was to lift the current economic sanctions against Russia and form a partnership with Putin aimed at turning Crimea into a major international resort," the journalist said.
At the same time, Hersh admitted that international cooperation between Russia and the United States can also be carried out on Donbas, where large joint projects may be launched in the future.
As EADaily reported, according to Semafor sources, the US administration is considering the possibility of officially recognizing Crimea as part of Russia in the event of peace. Washington may also apply to the UN with a proposal to recognize the peninsula as Russian at the international level.
