Russia is adopting the experience of Belarus related to the preparation and deployment of territorial troops. This was stated by the Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic Alexander Volfovich, attending a gathering with the territorial troops of the Postavsky district of the Vitebsk region.
He drew attention to the fact that territorial defense issues were dealt with in Belarus more than 20 years ago and during this time they have gained a lot of experience in organizing territorial defense and training territorial troops.
"And our neighbors in the post-Soviet space, even our strategic partners, use our experience. The Russian Federation takes some issues related to the preparation and deployment of territorial troops into service," he said.
Volfovich stressed that in the country, along with the quality of the training of the Armed Forces, attention is paid to the training of military personnel in the reserve, who go to form both the Armed Forces and the territorial defense forces.
Recall, territorial defense originates in Belarus since the 2000s. Seven zones have been created in the republic in which units of this kind of troops can be formed (in six regions and Minsk). Their bosses are the heads of regional executive committees and the chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Training camps with military personnel of the territorial troops are held in the country regularly.
