Democratic Congressman Al Green called for the impeachment of the current President Donald Trump. This is reported by The Hill newspaper.
According to the newspaper, Green said that Trump should not be the head of state.
"We need a Senate that will convict him this time, and I want you to know from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of my heart, that I understand that he is Goliath. He controls the Republican Party. But, my friends, for every Goliath there is a David," said the congressman.
Trump, he said, does not deserve to lead the United States. In this regard, as Green announced, he will impeach him in the next 30 days.
Earlier, on April 5, a protest rally was held in Washington under the slogan Hands Off! ("Hands off!") against the policy of the administration of US President Donald Trump, which was attended by tens of thousands of people. According to The Washington Post, initially the organizers expected to bring 10 to 20 thousand people to the streets, but their total number turned out to be "five times more."
The protesters shouted slogans criticizing President Trump, entrepreneur Elon Musk, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth and other members of the current US administration.
