The Afghan people not only defeated the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, but also caused its fall in Central Asia. This was stated in Acting Minister of Borders, Nationalities and Tribes of the Taliban government Nurullah Nuri in Kabul on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the beginning of the withdrawal of Soviet troops, TOLOnews reports.

According to him, Afghanistan will soon be able to compete with the advanced countries of the world in the political, economic and security spheres.

"We have good news that Afghanistan will soon compete with the world's largest powers in the political, economic and security spheres," Nuri added.

At the same ceremony, Fasihuddin Fitrat, chief of staff of the Taliban Defense Ministry, stressed that others should learn from the history of Afghanistan and that no enemy should even think about occupying the country.

"No matter what kind of strength and power the enemy possesses, his might will not stand. The people of Afghanistan are free and will continue to fight against them freely, eventually achieving victory. And we must learn that the enemy is always looking for our weaknesses," Fitrat said.

Acting Minister of Information and Culture Khairulla Khairkhva also spoke at the ceremony, stating:

"We are witnessing some individuals trying to corrupt the minds of young people and use them as tools. Opponents who failed in the era of jihad are now trying to mislead people."

All the speakers noted that the Mujahideen, consisting of various political parties, after 14 years of struggle, eventually succeeded in overthrowing the last communist regime led by Dr. Najibullah, taking control of the country.

As EADaily reported, on April 17, the Supreme Court of Russia granted the claim of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and suspended the ban on the activities of the Taliban Movement, previously included in the list of terrorist organizations. According to the member of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko, the suspension of the ban will mean the establishment of contacts, diplomatic relations, the opening of representative offices, trade, economic relations, "maybe even military."
