Russia extends its sanctions list

Russia has blacklisted over 200 anti-Russian politicians and public workers from the European Union and the United States.

Those individuals are barred from entering Russia, according to Izvestia newspaper. Prior to it, the Russian embassies in many countries were instructed to make the lists of the citizens who are actively engaged in the anti-Russian propaganda and have assets in Russia.

Reportedly, the new list comprises the names of such officials as President Barack Obama's deputy assistant Caroline Atkinson, and advisers Daniel Pfeiffer and Benjamin Rhodes, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, as well as Senator John McCain, along with 13 Canadian politicians and 15 citizens of Hungary.

By some data, the black list will “mirror” similar blacklists and sanctions the EU and U.S. have enacted against Russian citizens.
