Villa La Gaviota in Marbella (Spain), owned by Hollywood star Antonio Banderas, was demolished by court order. This is reported by the publication El Mundo.

The publication clarifies that the house was built in 1995 and originally belonged to the famous journalist Encarna Sanchez, the license for the site was issued by the then mayor of Marbella, Jesus Gil. Since 1996, the villa has been owned by Banderas, but it almost immediately became a source of problems.

A group of local residents accused the actor of seizing state land located in a protected area. The decision of the court of Andalusia in 2003 annulled the municipal permit for the construction of the villa. An attempt to appeal this decision in The High Court was unsuccessful — the invalidity of the construction license was confirmed. In 2013, the actor tried to resolve the problem by transferring part of the land plot to the city council of the municipality, which made it possible to expand the embankment section.

But in 2015, the High Court invalidated the City Hall's Urban Development Plan, and with it the opportunity to resolve the situation with the house in favor of Banderas.

In a video on the publication's YouTube channel, the process of demolishing the building is published, now there is a pile of stones and the rest of the wall on the site of the star's house.
