South Korean intelligence has published a detailed report on the transfer of Korean People's Army personnel to Russia. This is reported by the telegram channel "Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring."
According to South Korean intelligence, the transfer of North Korean troops began on October 8-13 on warships of the Russian Navy. 4 landing ships and 3 frigates cruised between Russia and North Korea and transported personnel and equipment. It is noted that for the first time since 1990, the Russian fleet entered the DPRK.
Now North Korean units are stationed at bases in eastern Russia in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchensk. The fighters received Russian uniforms, equipment and passports in the names of residents of Buryatia and Yakutia. The report cites as evidence satellite photos of their construction in Russia.
South Korean intelligence believes that after the exercises, the North Korean military will be sent "to the front."
"But this is a rather vague wording. For the front can be different. And the issue of the use of the DPRK military by the Russians is very complicated. The worst option for Kiev is if the DPRK troops replace the Russians in the rear and logistics. This will free up thousands of reserves for Russia, which can be immediately thrown into the assault. The use of DPRK troops in combat will face many difficulties. The language barrier, coherence, motivation, who will manage them and how they will set tasks. In general, the appearance of the DPRK military in the Russian army is an exit to a completely different international level of this war. And serious problems," the Military Correspondents write.
As EADaily reported, according to South Korean intelligence, about one and a half thousand fighters of the Special Operations Forces of the Korean People's Army (SOF, DPRK) have already been transferred to Vladivostok and their further deployment is expected in the near future. This was reported by The Telegraph.
As stated in Kiev, in the near future, North Korean special forces will take part in the conflict on the side of Russia. According to the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov, about 2,600 North Korean soldiers will be sent to Kursk by November 1.
As EADaily reported, Special operations Forces of the Korean People's Army — SOF can be transferred to Ukraine. This was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.
The SOF troops are "one of the most secret units of this kind in the world," the publication noted. Western analysts in their reports call the SOF "highly qualified troops equipped with the best equipment ... for dangerous but important missions."
"The North Korean special forces, numbering 200 thousand personnel, has 12 light infantry brigades, three reconnaissance units, three airborne divisions and three sniper units," Strana cites details from The Telegraph article.
Recall, the President of South Korea Yoon Sok Yeol held an emergency meeting on security issues to discuss the transfer of units of the DPRK army to Russia to participate in a special operation on Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to the statement of the office of the president.
The meeting discussed "information about the recent movement of North Korean troops in Russia and their support for the war," the statement said. It does not specify how many military personnel were sent and what their role is, the agency reports. According to the statement, the deployment poses a "serious security threat" to South Korea and the international community.
