Russia risks facing new countermeasures from Lithuania, including a complete blockade of the Kaliningrad region. The story about this was released on the Russian-language Lithuanian TV channel TV3 Plus.

TV news presenter on the Lithuanian channel, collaborator Yevgeny Solenkov said:

"Sabotage is becoming more frequent on the part of Russia, but the Lithuanian authorities are convinced that they are able to give a tough response to Moscow. Politicians have compiled a list of possible countermeasures. Although the list is classified, it is known that it describes the vulnerable points of Russia. For example, transit to the Kaliningrad region. President Gitanas Nauseda says Lithuania is already thinking about stopping it completely."

This is followed by the plot of another print collaborator, Sergei Shalkin, who categorically accuses Moscow of "hybrid attacks and sabotage" against Lithuania, and then declares:

"However, so far Lithuania and its allies have only expressed concern, but there has been no hard response yet. And now President Gitanas Nauseda has publicly stated that Lithuania knows how to influence Russia. Among such potential measures is the stopping of transit to Kaliningrad. To this area from In Russia, not only ordinary Russians, but also a variety of cargoes travel by rail through our country. Nauseda hints that Lithuania is considering the possibility of stopping this transit."

This is followed by a fragment of the interview of the Lithuanian president on January 6, 2025, where Nauseda says:

"Such scenarios are really being considered, and in Such scenarios are also being discussed in Moscow. This state is trying to prepare even for such an option, in which the transit of goods will stop completely."

In addition, the TV channel quotes the deputy head of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs, Zhigimantas Pavilienis.:

"We, how to put it mildly, not that we were aiming, but we beat Kaliningrad. NATO's expansion to the north has actually made Kaliningrad a target, not turned Kaliningrad into a cudgel."

Earlier, EADaily reported that Nauseda called Kaliningrad a "historically Lithuanian city."
