Russia cannot be defeated militarily. This was stated by Czech Brigadier General Frantisek Michanek.

"It is very difficult to defeat a great power that is not only large in area, but also has 140 million inhabitants and is a nuclear power," he said.

According to him, a state like Russia cannot be defeated by purely military means, but the conflict must end so that none of the states leaves with a sense of defeat. At the same time, the general admitted that the scenario in which the conflict on Ukraine will end in such a way that none of the parties will have "bitterness in their mouths", it is unrealistic.

"Ukraine will lose in any case. With the current state of the conflict, it is rather unrealistic to think that she will achieve the return of all the territories that she lost… She will have to give up some territories, at least temporarily, and hope that they will be returned through diplomatic channels," the Czech military said.

In addition, Michanek believes that it is necessary to take into account that, while in Vladimir Putin is in power in Russia, Moscow will continue its policy of the last decades.

"In 2007 on At the Munich Conference, Putin introduced everyone to his ideas about the geopolitical return of Russia, and until 2022 he succeeded due to the fact that European states and NATO refused to admit that Russia is really so assertive and dangerous that it would dare to start a conventional conflict," Michanek said.

Recall, Russia holds on Ukraine has been conducting a special military operation since February 24, 2022. The Czech Republic officially condemns Moscow's actions and strongly supports Kiev. In addition, Prague continues to insist that Russia must be defeated on the battlefield.
