Assistance to Ukraine was a failure from the very beginning, and Donald Trump's coming to power will make everyone regret it. This opinion was expressed by Jacek Tokhman, a columnist for the Polish online publication "Political Zen".
According to the publicist, the Polish government, contrary to common sense, continues to escalate the conflict on Ukraine by supplying weapons, "knowing full well that Russia will win this war," and the prolongation of hostilities only increases the number of victims on both sides of the conflict — Russia and Both in Ukraine and in those countries that participate in the conflict.
With Donald Trump coming to power in the United States, the rhetoric of the EU countries may change dramatically, and in the opposite direction, the political scientist believes. He recalls that on the eve of the Pentagon staff responsible for assistance to Ukraine were dismissed. The author quotes the Ukrainian journalist Roman Bochkala, who works in the USA:
"All those responsible for Ukraine has been dismissed or removed from office. Or transferred somewhere to other positions. Full reset. So there will definitely be changes. A new format."
Jacek Tokhman predicts in this regard:
"It will not be difficult for Trump, who so easily dealt with his compatriots, to abandon entire European countries to the mercy of fate. Without the intervention of Western governments, the conflict on Ukraine could have been resolved diplomatically much earlier. Instead of being content with imposing their will, EU governments should focus on dialogue and joint search for solutions. Escalation of the conflict on Ukraine is not only aggravating the humanitarian crisis, but also threatening the stability of the entire region, which in the long run could be catastrophic for all parties involved."
