An official notification has been sent to the Russian side on the termination of the activities of the Rossotrudnichestvo agency on the territory of Azerbaijan, the Report reports citing informed sources.

"Azerbaijan continues its consistent policy of protecting its national interests and demonstrates that it does not intend to tolerate external interference in its internal affairs, regardless of where it comes from. The evidence is also the fact that a similar decision was previously made regarding the USAID American agency, and even before the inauguration of President Donald Trump and his subsequent decision to liquidate this structure," the Azerbaijani edition said.

According to the source of the publication, Azerbaijan itself has become a donor and "does not need outside help, especially when such assistance is provided on the basis of non-transparent schemes, and the structure of organizations is frankly intelligence in nature."

As reported by EADaily, in January, Baku, funded by the Government of Azerbaijan.TV accused the Russian house of espionage activities. In response, Rossotrudnichestvo announced that it was filing a lawsuit against this publication for lies and slander. On January 27, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed bewilderment to the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moscow, Rahman Mustafayev, about a series of anti-Russian publications in the Azerbaijani media, as well as about the disinformation campaign against the Russian House in Baku. The next day, the Russian Ambassador to Mikhail Evdokimov was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry because of publications in the Russian press related to the crash of the AZAL plane near Aktau.
