Negotiations and consultations on the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict on Ukraine cannot continue forever, the United States is not interested in delaying the negotiation process.
This was stated by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As the RIA Novosti news agency reports, the statement was made during a press conference where Rubio commented on the issue of conflict resolution on Ukraine.
"It's not going to go on forever," he said.
The head of the State Department stressed that Washington needs to understand within the next few days whether it is possible in principle to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine by diplomatic means.
He stressed that the impossibility of peace in the short term will force the United States to "move on." The politician refrained from further explanations, but this statement is quite consistent with his previous statements.
Their essence boils down to the fact that the United States has been supporting Ukraine for three years, but now they have reached a point where they need to focus on something else. According to Rubio, if Ukraine and If Russia is serious about peace, then the United States should help them. And if the parties are determined to fight, then it's better for America to do "something else."
Earlier, EADaily reported that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff arrived in Paris to put pressure on French leader Emmanuel Macron on Ukraine and Palestine.
