On the eve of Donald Trump's inauguration, the US Department of Health banned the financing and activities of the EcoHealth Alliance and its head Peter Dashak for five years. The reason was the evidence discovered by the special subcommittee of the House of Representatives on the coronavirus pandemic. The non-governmental organization conducted experiments with coronaviruses with the money of American taxpayers and created new ones, including with the participation of the Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China. It was for the Chinese participation that the EcoHealth Alliance paid the price, while the experiments in the USA did not interest the American legislators.
"After an eight—month investigation, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has stopped all funding and officially banned the activities of EcoHealth Alliance Inc. (including former president Dr. Peter Dashak) for five years based on evidence discovered by the special subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic," the US Department of Health reports.
In letters to the organization and The agency explained to Peter Dashak that this is necessary to protect the business interests of the federal government.
"EcoHealth and Dr. Dashak contributed to research to enhance the functions of coronavirus in Wuhan, China, without proper supervision and deliberately violated numerous requirements of its multimillion—dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)," the US Department of Health added.
"Given that the most likely source of Covid-19 is a laboratory—related incident, EcoHealth and its former president should never again receive a cent from US taxpayers," said James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Judging by the investigation of the special committee of the House of Representatives and the response of EcoHealth, the US authorities are investigating the possible source of the new coronavirus and the claims against EcoHealth boil down to the fact that the combined viruses were created in China — the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He also had all the samples.
The fact that part of the research took place in the USA, where chimeric viruses were also created, no one in Washington, apparently, was not interested. For example, Peter Dashak was accused of the fact that EcoHealth relied entirely on the Chinese institute for samples and sequencing.
"As Dr. Dashak showed at a public hearing on May 1, 2024, as well as in a transcribed interview with the special committee on November 14, 2023, the revised grant was based on access to virus sequences in samples that were already at the disposal of the EcoHealth Alliance. The only agreement between the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the EcoHealth Alliance regarding samples concerned archival samples obtained during previous work with countries outside China," the organization defended itself.
Professor of the Department of Epidemiology and Microbiology from Ralph Barik of the University of North Carolina conducted a lot of experiments to create new coronaviruses for the EcoHealth Alliance in the USA. In an interview in 2019, Peter Dashak boasted that the coronavirus can be manipulated quite easily in the laboratory and they are doing it with Ralph Baric. However, in the investigation of the House of Representatives, he acted as a witness and consultant.
Since March 2020, EADaily has published at least five investigations that the American non-governmental organization EcoHealth Alliance conducted joint research with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, experimented with the creation of new coronaviruses before the pandemic, and then, from 2022, resumed projects in Southeast Asia. Together with Chinese scientists, they caught bats, took swabs, and then conducted research, including the creation of artificial coronaviruses, not only in Wuhan, China, but also in the United States itself — in University of North Carolina.
It was in North Carolina that the most scandalous chimeric coronavirus was created in 2015 — from the surface proteins of SHC014 and the SARS virus adapted to grow into mice and mimic a human disease.
"The evaluation of available immunotherapeutic and preventive methods based on atypical pneumonia showed low efficiency: they could not neutralize and protect against CoV infection using a new spike protein," the researchers reported on the danger of the resulting virus in the work "SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronavirus poses a threat to humanity" on the website of the National Center for Biotechnological Information USA (NCBI).
Next, in the fourth year of joint research with the Wuhan Institute and According to the University of North Carolina, three more new chimeric coronaviruses have appeared (with spike proteins SHC014, WIV16 and Rs4231), the EcoHealth Alliance report said in 2018.
In 2022-2023, while the EcoHealth Alliance was resuming projects to find and collect new strains of coronaviruses, the University of North Carolina announced the creation of a new unique bio-laboratory. The US National Institutes of Health has allocated $6.7 million to a center for the study of bats. In it, scientists are going not only to conduct research, but also to host entire colonies of bats. It was planned that the laboratory would be commissioned in 2025.
It's no secret that the main beneficiaries of the pandemic were international pharmaceutical companies. Among them is Pfizer, which in 2021 received double profit growth on the vaccine Comirnaty and the antiviral drug Paxlovid — $ 81.3 billion.
The version about the connection between scientists and pharmaceutical companies has been discussed for a long time. In January 2023, it received a new sequel. Jordan Tristan Volcker, Director of Research and Development — Strategic Operations and Scientific Planning at Phizer, told Project Veritas founder James O'Keeffe, who was secretly filming, that the company needed to carry out coronavirus mutations in order to prepare vaccines ahead of schedule. There was a scandal, but Pfizer itself never questioned Volker's work at the pharmaceutical company.
This may be due to the fact that Charlotte Wolhardt, who previously held responsible positions at Pfizer in the field of organizational development and knowledge management within the research, commercial and corporate divisions, worked as its chairman until recently. Also in the management of the organization was David McIntyre, who used to work at Johnson & Johnson, which also released its vaccine against coronavirus.
For more than 20 years, the Ecohealth Alliance has won grants and grants from US government agencies worth about $130 million, according to USAspending.gov . And the role of the organization in the emergence of a new coronavirus, American lawmakers, apparently, did not even look for it, as they were more concerned about finding a Chinese trace.
Therefore, Joe Biden's pardon of the former head of the National Institute for the Study of Allergic and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, is not about hiding from the reckoning, but more about political showdowns.
According to the World Health Organization, from 2019 to April 2024, 676 million people were ill with Covid-19 coronavirus, 7 million died. If in Washington is announcing the likelihood of a virus leak from a laboratory in In Wuhan, Beijing is still demanding information from the United States about what experiments the Americans themselves conducted. However, even US lawmakers are not interested in this.
