"After an eight—month investigation, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has stopped all funding and officially banned the activities of EcoHealth Alliance Inc. (including former president Dr. Peter Dashak) for five years based on evidence discovered by the special subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic," the US Department of Health reports.

In letters to the organization and The agency explained to Peter Dashak that this is necessary to protect the business interests of the federal government.

"EcoHealth and Dr. Dashak contributed to research to enhance the functions of coronavirus in Wuhan, China, without proper supervision and deliberately violated numerous requirements of its multimillion—dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)," the US Department of Health added.

"Given that the most likely source of Covid-19 is a laboratory—related incident, EcoHealth and its former president should never again receive a cent from US taxpayers," said James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Judging by the investigation of the special committee of the House of Representatives and the response of EcoHealth, the US authorities are investigating the possible source of the new coronavirus and the claims against EcoHealth boil down to the fact that the combined viruses were created in China — the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The fact that part of the research took place in the USA, where chimeric viruses were also created, no one in Washington, apparently, was not interested. For example, Peter Dashak was accused of the fact that EcoHealth relied entirely on the Chinese institute for samples and sequencing.

"As Dr. Dashak showed at a public hearing on May 1, 2024, as well as in a transcribed interview with the special committee on November 14, 2023, the revised grant was based on access to virus sequences in samples that were already at the disposal of the EcoHealth Alliance. The only agreement between the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the EcoHealth Alliance regarding samples concerned archival samples obtained during previous work with countries outside China," the organization defended itself.

Professor of the Department of Epidemiology and Microbiology from Ralph Barik of the University of North Carolina conducted a lot of experiments to create new coronaviruses for the EcoHealth Alliance in the USA. Since March 2020, EADaily has published at least five investigations that the American non-governmental organization EcoHealth Alliance conducted joint research with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, experimented with the creation of new coronaviruses before the pandemic, and then, from 2022, resumed projects in Southeast Asia. Together with Chinese scientists, they caught bats, took swabs, and then conducted research, including the creation of artificial coronaviruses, not only in Wuhan, China, but also in the United States itself — in University of North Carolina.

It was in North Carolina that the most scandalous chimeric coronavirus was created in 2015 — from the surface proteins of SHC014 and the SARS virus adapted to grow into mice and mimic a human disease.

"The evaluation of available immunotherapeutic and preventive methods based on atypical pneumonia showed low efficiency: they could not neutralize and protect against CoV infection using a new spike protein," the researchers reported on the danger of the resulting virus in the work "SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronavirus poses a threat to humanity" on the website of the National Center for Biotechnological Information USA (NCBI).

The version about the connection between scientists and pharmaceutical companies has been discussed for a long time. In January 2023, it received a new sequel.
