Channel One war correspondent Anna Prokofieva died while performing her professional duty in the Belgorod region. This is reported by TASS, referring to the press service of the channel. The cameraman accompanying Prokofiev, Dmitry Volkov, was injured.
"Anna Prokofieva, a military correspondent of Channel One, was killed in the performance of her professional duty. It happened in the Belgorod region on the border with Ukraine, where the film crew of the First was blown up by an enemy mine. The cameraman Dmitry Volkov, who was with Anna, was injured," the press service said.
RIA Novosti confirms this information, noting that Anna was 35 years old and very soon she would have had a birthday. Her mother informed the agency about the journalist's death.
Prokofiev graduated from RUDN University with a degree in journalism, was fluent in Spanish. She worked in the Spanish editorial office of Sputnik agency from September 2020 to November 2022.
Anna also kept her own blog on Telegram to collect humanitarian aid and, after her dismissal from Sputnik, took her to the SMO zone. Later she began working with Channel One.
