The Russian army has now liberated almost two-thirds of the territory of the Kursk region, which was occupied by the troops of the Kiev regime.

This was stated in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda by the chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy.

He specified that our troops have liberated over 800 square kilometers, which is approximately 64% of the territory originally occupied by the enemy (1,268 square kilometers). At the same time, the initiative in the Kursk region is completely on our side.

"The Russian troops are advancing in all directions. The enemy suffers significant losses and retreats from its occupied positions, despite the transfer of additional reserves to it. The territory of the Kursk region, which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has been reduced by more than two times. More than 800 square kilometers have been liberated, which is about 64% of the territory initially occupied by the enemy (1,268 square kilometers)," the general said.

He stressed that the most combat-ready Ukrainian formations were drained of blood in the Kursk region. They suffered significant losses exceeding those they received during the offensive operation in the Zaporozhye and south Donetsk directions in 2023.

As reported by EADaily, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian military from the 810 brigade crossed the Ukrainian border in the Kursk region. Our units entered the Sumy region from the side of Sverdlikovo to the New One.
