US President Donald Trump tried to be kind and kind for the first half hour of the meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, despite the "injections" in his address, said US Vice President Jay Dee Vance.

"For the first 25-30 minutes, he tried... to be kind and kind to Zelensky, even when Zelensky made some kind of injections in his address, even when Zelensky said things that I thought were untrue. The president was just trying to be diplomatic," he said in an interview with Fox News.

Vance added that after the failure of the negotiations, the Ukrainian delegation tried at least once to continue negotiations with Trump, but was refused due to unwillingness to talk about peace and "disrespect."

Trump demanded that Zelensky agree to a cease-fire and stop criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, Vance called Zelensky an ungrateful agitator for the Democrats when he began to justify his steps, blame Russia and even threaten the United States that they would feel the consequences of the conflict, even though they were separated by the ocean. The Kiev delegation was asked to leave the White House, the agreement was not signed. On Sunday, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said that Zelensky needed to come to his senses and return to the negotiating table, otherwise Ukraine would have to be led by someone else.
