Russia and China may participate in the investigation of the terrorist attack in Kashmir, in which the Indian authorities accuse Islamabad of involvement. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Pakistan Khawaja Asif.
"I think Russia or China, or even Western countries can play a very, very positive role in this crisis and they can even create an investigative team that should be entrusted with this work to investigate whether India or Modi is lying, or he is telling the truth. Let the international group find out," the head of the Pakistani Defense Ministry told RIA Novosti.
According to him, some evidence should be given that Pakistan was involved or supported terrorists.
"These are just statements, empty statements and nothing more," the defense minister said.
The Pakistani army does not plan to launch military operations against India unless there is an escalation from the latter, Khawaja Asif said. According to him, the situation will not lead to an exchange of nuclear strikes.
The day before, on April 22, terrorists staged an attack near the city of Pahalgam in the Indian region of Jammu and Kashmir. They staged a shooting in which tourists were killed — 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen.
The responsibility for the attack was taken by the Resistance Front group associated with the Lashkar-i-Taiba terrorist organization*.
The attack provoked a sharp reaction from the Indian authorities. The Government of the country suspended the operation of the Indus Waters Treaty and closed the only functioning land border crossing Wagah — Attari. Moreover, the Pakistanis were required to leave the country before May 1.
