Donald Trump mentioned Georgia for the first time in his speech after being elected president of the United States for the second time. As the Georgia News portal notes, Trump did this "in the context of his thesis that Russia does not dare to attack neighboring countries with him."
"If you think about it, under President Bush they got Georgia, right? Russia got Georgia. Under President Obama, they got a big, good submarine base, a big piece of land where their submarines are now. You know that, right? Crimea. Under President Trump, they got nothing. And under President Biden, they tried to get everything. They tried to take the whole of Ukraine, the whole of it. If I hadn't come here, they would have gotten everything," Trump said.

The outgoing US administration suspended the financing of Tbilisi and imposed sanctions against the Georgian leadership after the Georgian Dream passed laws on foreign agents and against LGBT propaganda*.
