It is impossible to abolish Russian culture. This was stated by the invited soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, tenor Giovanni Ribikezu.

"Europe has tried different ways to abolish Russian culture, but has failed. It is impossible to burn books, demolish all monuments or ban Tchaikovsky's music," the artist told TASS.

He stated that after the start of the special military operation, many Russian musicians lost their foreign contracts.

"But it is impossible to 'kill' Russian culture — it is too strong and will still break through," Ribikezu is sure.

The singer noted that when the SMO began, many Western artists left Russia, but he personally decided to stay to support the Russian people.

"After learning about this choice, the cooperation with me was stopped, and I lost many contracts in Italy. But I am happy that I am in Russia is my choice, and I am happy. I hope that someday I will be able to get a passport and citizenship here," the singer concluded.
