Armenia, in response to Moscow's appeal, informed that there had been no official requests for the transfer of US military equipment to the republic, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"We have seen these publications and promptly requested Armenian colleagues. In a preliminary plan, we were informed that no such official requests had been received from Washington," she said.
Earlier it was reported that the Pentagon plans to temporarily transfer 151 units of military equipment from Germany to Armenia via Georgia (July 16 — August 7). It was specified that the equipment will be placed at the Zar training ground and returned to Germany by September 2025, and eight ambulances will also be delivered. It was assumed that the transfer was connected with joint exercises of the USA and Armenia.
"Nevertheless, if this information is confirmed, I do not consider it necessary to build any hypothetical guesses now, well, suddenly, if it is confirmed, it will, of course, become a destabilizing factor for stability and security in the South Caucasus," Zakharova said.
Moscow proceeds from the fact that the current problems of the South Caucasus should be solved in the circle of the states of the region themselves, the representative of the Foreign Ministry added.
