The first victory over Trump: Denmark repelled the attack of Vance's wife on Greenland

The US decision to change the program of a planned visit to Greenland, which caused a diplomatic standoff between Copenhagen and the White House amid Donald Trump's interest in seizing the island, was approved in Denmark. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Lars Rasmussen.

"I think it's very positive that the Americans canceled their visit to the Greenlandic society. Instead, they will visit their own base, Pituffik, and we have nothing against it," Foreign Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen said in an interview with DR TV channel, quoted by The Guardian.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said yesterday that the planned visit of Usha Vance, wife of US Vice President Jay Dee Vance's ban on the popular dog sledding race in Greenland is part of "unacceptable pressure" on the semi-autonomous Danish territory, the British newspaper writes.

The White House on Tuesday announced that the delegation will be led by J. D. Vance himself, but it will visit only the American space base in Pituffike in the north of Greenland, not a dog sled race, according to Reuters.
