The Alternative for Germany party and the Union have equalized positions — both parties are supported by 24% of German residents. This is reported by the telegram channel "Bild in Russian"* with reference to the results of recent INSA opinion polls.
According to the polls, the CDU/CSU bloc has lost two percentage points, while the AfD has risen by one more and at the moment both parties are gaining 24% each.
It is noted that, thus, six weeks after the election, the future Chancellor Friedrich Merz lost a total of 4.6% of voter support.
"The Union is going through a dramatic decline. There has never been such a loss of approval in the period between the federal election and the formation of the government. Even in the traffic light government, euphoria reigned at first," said Herman Binkert, head of the INSA sociological institute.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the separation of the CDU/CSU bloc from the opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) party was reduced to 1 percentage point. This was evidenced by the data of the sociological barometer of political trends of the RTL TV channel.
