UK sanctions against Georgian Prosecutor General Giorgi Gabitashvili and other law enforcement officials speak about the tragic state of affairs in the kingdom, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
"Today, a country that is a bearer of traditions, without any evidence, facts, uses a measure against people that is correlated with a criminal offense. This, of course, speaks of the tragedy, based on the history that the UK has gone through so far," Kobakhidze said.
He noted that in this case Georgia can only express regret.
As EADaily reported, it was reported that London again imposed sanctions against representatives of the Georgian leadership. The UK government said in a statement that the sanctions package was announced by the UK "in response to serious human rights violations" committed by four Georgian citizens in response to "legitimate protests that began in 2024."
