Kyrgyzstan puts in wanted list participants of military actions abroad

The Kyrgyz State National Security Committee is investigating details of how citizens of Kyrgyzstan who participated in military actions in Middle East fighting for extremist organizations managed to get back to the country. As spokesman for the committee Rahat Suleymanov told reporters today, since the beginning of the year about two dozens of Kyrgyz citizens returned to the country from conflict zones. “They are under investigation on suspicion of being involved in terror activities, mercenarism, participation in military confrontations,” he said.

According to the committee, in total about 600 citizens of the country left to participate in the military actions in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, not less than 70 of them were killed. These are not exact figures; real figures may be higher. It is hard to be more precise, as many of those left used fake documents. Earlier, President Almazbek Atambayev also spoke of it calling for sooner introduction of biometric passports.
