Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov confirmed the availability of alternative routes for the supply of natural gas to Europe. According to the official representative of the Kremlin, there is a real possibility of creating a hub in Turkey. This was announced today, August 28, according to TASS.

Earlier, EADaily informed about Kiev's lack of intention to extend the gas transit agreement, which was confirmed this week by Vladimir Zelensky.

"There are alternative routes, there are plans to create a hub in Turkey, work is underway on this," Peskov said.

Back in October 2022, Vladimir Putin put forward the idea of creating a Turkish gas hub, which was supposed to replace the lost power of the exploded Nord Stream. Then, already in December 2023, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak named specific dates for the start of a new project in Turkey — we are talking about the end of 2024.
