The plan to seize power in Belarus in 2021 assumed the elimination of Alexander Lukashenko. About this in the movie "Murderous conspiracy. The target is Lukashenka," Yuri Zenkovich, one of the conspirators, told the Belorussia 1 TV channel.
Zenkovich said that a group of rebels characterized their plan as a classic coup.
"We very often recalled the coup of Augusto Pinochet, when the generals take power into their own hands and establish a military government," Zenkovich said.
According to him, before dawn, the units involved in the rebellion had to leave their places of deployment. Part of the forces were assigned to block the city of Minsk so that reinforcements would not come up.
"The tank battalion had to reach Of the Ostroshitsky town, block it and take everyone who is there captive, or, in case of resistance, destroy it," the conspirator said.
He specified that Ostroshitsky town played a big role in the conspiracy for the reason that, according to available information, the Belarusian leader spent most of his time there. In addition, the rebels believed that there was a sum of money there that the president could use in case of any emergency. At the same time, the rebels were going to spend money to "pay the military."
"Other forces were supposed to move towards the city center: to seize the presidential residence, the main mass media on Kommunisticheskaya and Makayenka," Zenkovich said.
After that, with the help of the media, representatives of the junta had to make a message: "the power is transferred to the military, to all the requirements to remain calm, to fulfill their official duties, who does not obey, will deal with the army." At the same time, groups of radicals were prepared in case the military refused to shoot at the president.
It also became known that one of the plans, authored by Nikolai Autukhovich, convicted of terrorism, was to shoot the helicopter of the Belarusian leader with a machine gun. At the same time, Zenkovich clarified that they were going to liquidate the performer in the future.
"World history teaches that a person who directly raised his hand against the head of state must be destroyed," Zenkovich explained.
He also added that there was another plan called "Silence", it was proposed by Denis Khromov (Hoffman), who is a citizen of Ukraine and recently lives in Germany.
"I got this plan from him. The shooting of the motorcade of the head of state from a grenade launcher was exactly the "Silence" plan. I forwarded it to other members of the group. The plan was criticized, and another version of this plan was presented," Zenkovich said.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that he tried to stay away from Hoffman, since he is a Ukrainian citizen and the lives of Belarusians are of no value to him. At the same time, Zenkovich noted that it was difficult for him to judge who was behind Hoffman, since on the Ukraine had a lot of both state and non-state private armed groups, "it could have been anyone."
In addition, the conspirator said that the money for the rebellion was sought on In Ukraine, in Israel and in the United States, and also tried to find military personnel who would help make operational plans for the operation to seize power.
"I was negotiating with Igor Kolomoisky*, because we believed that this was a Ukrainian oligarch who was investing in various risky projects, and he could participate in such a project," Zenkovich said.
It also became known that according to the plan of the conspirators, after the liquidation of the head of state, power should have been in the hands of seven people - four civilians and three military. They planned to divide the powers and each would take control of one of the regions of the country.
"Each of the members of the "seven" had to supervise a certain direction. Alexander Feduta, for example, planned to oversee the issues of reforms and electoral legislation, as well as the media. It was planned to entrust the military with the social sphere, because we believed that the military were good in these matters," he said and added that he himself had to oversee the reforms of law enforcement agencies, constitutional reforms and electoral reforms.
Recall that the coup plot became known in April 2021. The detained rebels were later sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. In particular, Zenkovich received 11 years in prison, Alexander Feduta and Grigory Kostusev - 10 years. The ambassador was pardoned by Lukashenko in July 2024.
