Ukraine intends to rename five cities

The Ukrainian authorities intend to rename five cities of the country. The relevant draft resolutions with recommendations sent by the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance were published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada on Monday, September 30.

So, the city of Pervomaisk was proposed to be renamed Olviopol. They want to rename Yuzhnoukrainsk to Gard. The city of Yuzhnoye is proposed to be called Port Annenthal. The name of the city of Pavlograd, in turn, was recommended to be changed to Matveev, and Sinelnikovo to Rodnopolye.
