Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva canceled a visit to the BRICS summit in Kazan, after he hit his head in his residence. This was reported by the press service of the Brazilian leader.
The summit will be held on September 22-24. Lula da Silva was supposed to fly to Russia tonight local time. However, the 78-year-old president fell in his residence and injured his head in the back of the head. After being bandaged and tested at the hospital, Lula returned to the residence and is under the supervision of doctors who have banned him from long-term air travel.
"President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, on the recommendation of a doctor, will not go to the BRICS summit in Kazan due to a temporary ban on long-haul flights," the text says.
